Qur’an Focus
Read first, then your apps. Qur’an Focus keeps the apps you choose closed until you have read your Qur’an aloud for the day.
How it works
- Choose how much to read each day, from half a page.
- Read aloud on the printed Madinah muṣḥaf (Ḥafṣ). The words turn blue as you read them; a red underline asks you to read a word again. It checks the words you read, not ḥarakāt or tajwīd.
- Choose apps and websites with Apple’s Screen Time. They open once you have read.
Reading and recognition happen on your iPhone: your voice never leaves it. Simple usage data is sent only if you say yes: privacy policy.
Help
- Blocking won’t let you in and you need it to: iPhone Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access → Qur’an Focus, and turn it off (with Strict protection, this asks for the Screen Time code). Turn it on again in the app later.
- Words are not caught: read a little louder and closer, in a quiet place. Settings → Reading → How checking works.
- Reminders don’t arrive: iPhone Settings → Apps → Qur’an Focus → Notifications → Allow Notifications.
